The City of Naperville seeks residents’ feedback on overnight, on-street parking now through Sept. 18, 2026. According to the City’s website, “Input will help staff better understand how and why residents use on-street parking overnight, and will help inform a recommendation to the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) and City Council on the future of the City’s overnight parking restriction (2AM-5AM) and related programs.” While on-the-street parking may buffer pedestrians from moving traffic during the day, it often narrows the usable road by day and by night. On-the-street parking near corners also creates blind spots when approaching this City’s many 4-way stops. Whether or not folks have ever thought about on-the-street overnight parking, it’s a real conversation to explore from all angles about the future of our community.
