Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif on Monday, August 10, 2026, met with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) First Vice President Yuko Mitsui, as they discussed developments in Egypt-Japan cooperation in education and ways to expand existing projects.
The talks took place during Abdel Latif’s visit to Japan and covered the expansion of Egyptian-Japanese schools, teacher training and prospects for extending Japanese educational practices to mainstream schools.
Abdel Latif said the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools will rise to 102 in September, up from 69 last year and 52 two years ago.
