Barbadian allrounder Hayley Matthews is on the shortlist for the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women’s Player-of-the-Month award for July. The 28-year-old was the Player-of-the-Series on the recent tour of Ireland as she led West Indies to a comprehensive 3-0 triumph in the One-Day Internationals. The West Indies captain took charge with both bat and ball in the three-match ODI series. She followed up her outstanding performance with another century – 100 off 94 balls – which was the 12th of her career and the all-time record in West Indies history. These performances led her to No.2 on the ICC Women’s rankings for allrounders in ODIs.
