Ward 3 City Councilor Susanna Finn filed out a mailer from Penzance seeking support for the 1500 Gateway data center project. Penzance has revamped its proposal significantly since December, when the Planning Commission recommended denial for the second time. The most recent version of the Gateway project still includes an electrical substation on the Cowan Boulevard end of the parcel. Data center development in the TOD is by-right, meaning it does not need to go before Planning Commission and City Council. “This data center wouldn’t just keep us close to home, but it would buy us back time with our children,” Trajo said.
