ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting regarding the preparations for Independence Day celebrations, including the central flag-hoisting ceremony, the Independence Day parade, security arrangements, traffic management, and events across the Federal capital. Participants reviewed arrangements for the main flag-hoisting ceremony, which will be one of the central events marking Pakistan’s Independence Day in the federal capital. The meeting also examined preparations for the Independence Day parade scheduled to be held at Parade Ground. Officials presented details of the security strategy for Independence Day celebrations, including measures for public gatherings, official ceremonies, and events taking place across different sectors of Islamabad. The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Independence Day events are conducted in an organized manner with appropriate security, traffic management, and public facilitation measures in place.
