Tips for getting into the school routine
['Jonathan Schwitzerlette']
WOAY-TV
Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) The fun of summer break has a way of making the rigid routine of school seem very far away.
If necessary, start a few weeks in advance and ease into an earlier bedtime by 15 minutes every few days.
With bedtimes in order, start getting them used to the full morning routine a week or so early.
Encourage reading, such as from a summer reading list or books they are genuinely interested in.
While it’s not necessary to manufacture a whole summer school, making your child feel familiar with the school routine and environment can make the first day back less jarring.
