Evacuations and rescues from flooding overnight in New LexingtonBy Jarrod AllenNEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — Rain described as ‘torrential’ prompted high water rescues in New Lexington early Tuesday morning.
A mobile home park at the confluence of the Rush and Oxawoosey Creeks took on high water and forced residents from their homes.
“We’ve had multiple water rescues.
We are currently on the scene of another water rescue.
The [Perry County Emergency Management Agency] has opened up a shelter at the Coliseum,” said Ty Danison, Battalion Chief of New Lexington Fire Department.
