Veteran Maltese broadcaster and former diplomat Norman Hamilton has died at the age of 85, following a career spanning more than six decades. He later worked with Rediffusion and Radio Malta and went on to serve as Head of Programmes for Maltese broadcasting between 1981 and 1988. Among the programmes associated with Hamilton throughout his career were Sibtijiet Sajfin, Sibtijiet Xitwin, Sibtijiet Flimkien, Bla Aġenda and Aġenda. The Labour Party described Hamilton as a pioneer of Maltese broadcasting, highlighting a career of more than 60 years across radio and television. Away from broadcasting, Hamilton was involved in Malta’s tourism and entertainment sectors and served as Malta’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
