Thomas Lobianco, 26, allegedly ran a red light and drove onto a Nesconset sidewalk, hitting three construction workersSuffolk Police arrested a Lake Ronkonkoma man and charged him with driving while ability impaired by drugs, hours after he plowed into a road crew in Nesconset, killing one construction worker and injuring two others, cops said.
The three men were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where Joel Sicon-Porix, 38, of Mastic, was pronounced dead, police said.
Kevin Chavez-Sarmiento, 30, of Bay Shore and Jose Gonzalez-Colindres, 33, of Brentwood are being treated at the hospital for serious injuries.
Lobianco is being held at Suffolk Police’s Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
