He has yet to earn a win in two starts since he was acquired by Los Angeles at the trade deadline after winning the past two American League Cy Young Awards for the Detroit Tigers. The Royals got to Skubal in the first inning on an RBI single from Caglianone, who added a two-run home run in the third inning for a 3-0 lead. Kansas City responded immediately against Los Angeles left-hander Jack Dreyer. Michael Massey opened the seventh inning with a single, and Isbel hit a one-out home run to tie the score 5-5.
