A GoFundMe page has been launched to support a Ucluelet firefighter injured during a wildfire deployment. The fundraiser was launched on Aug. 8 and explains that Adam Howe suffered a tibial plateau fracture and now faces a long recovery following surgery. “Adam was in the hospital on the mainland for four days before having very serious surgery on his leg. “I am hoping we can all come together and help someone who gives selflessly, not only to his own community but other communities in need.” The page is titled Volunteer wildfire, fire fighter injured and can be found at https://gofund.me/c6e6e9d06.
