Virginia remains the hardest-hit area, with about 23,000 customers without power. In West Virginia, just over 5,000 customers remain without electricity. Crews are assessing damage and making repairs, with Appalachian Power expecting to restore service to most customers affected by the storms by the end of today. The company is also reminding customers to stay away from downed power lines and anything they may be touching.
