That’s the stretch of the GW Parkway that drivers take heading toward the Capital Beltway. The tree work is part of ongoing maintenance and is intended to prevent trees and branches from falling onto the parkway, potentially causing closures and crashes. GW Parkway detour informationDuring the lane closures, all northbound drivers on the GW Parkway will need to exit at Spout Run Parkway and follow posted detour signs, according to the National Park Service (NPS). Drivers will be able to get back onto GW Parkway at Route 123.
