Vogue Australia has highlighted the impact Sydney creative collective Kra-Niraivu is making on the Australian fashion scene by creating a space where young creatives and designers from culturally diverse backgrounds can connect, collaborate and feel represented. Its latest event, featuring runway shows, live performances, local designer stalls and an art auction, recently caught the attention of Vogue Australia who were on the ground photographing attendees. The pair told B&T they wanted to build the kind of creative space they struggled to find themselves. “We felt like there was a missing element in the creative space, and that was intentionality and the lack of community involved.” She highlight events like these which “celebrate a wide range of ethnicities and cultures” is crucial to Australia’s fashion scene.
