⤢President Dr Patrick Herminie today received Mr Christopher Green, the new Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Seychelles, at State House, on the occasion of the Presentation of a Commemorative Plaque marking the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Seychelles and the United States of America.
The exchange on counter-narcotics cooperation was particularly robust, with both President Herminie and CDA Green drawing on their respective backgrounds in the field.
President Herminie briefed CDA Green on Seychelles' upcoming IBBS (Integrated Biological and Behavioural Surveillance) study, a national exercise designed to assess the magnitude and circulation of illicit drugs within the country.
CDA Green outlined his mandate for his posting in Seychelles, which centres on the practical implementation of agreements already concluded between the two countries, overseeing the completion of the new United States Embassy at Ile Perseverance, as well as welcoming the new Ambassador of the United States to Seychelles.
President Herminie welcomed the continued strength of the partnership and reaffirmed the Seychelles Government's commitment to deepening collaboration with the United States across shared priorities, including security, education, trade, economic opportunity and people-to-people ties.
