Court records indicate settlement is in the worksA settlement to spare the life of a dog whose death sentence is the subject of a federal lawsuit may be in the works, according to court records obtained by the Camarillo Acorn. Bruce was initially set to be euthanized at the Camarillo Animal Shelter in March following a series of biting incidents. Bruce allegedly bit his adopter, the adopter’s girlfriend, an Oxnard animal control officer and another person. Receiving no response, the paper filed a public records request and was told the county needed a month to respond. As such, “VCAS seeks to limit staff and volunteer direct contact with Bruce, to avoid opportunities for problems to occur.”
