According to a probable cause statement drafted by Officer Andrew Wood with the Tooele City Police Department, he was assigned to reports of a theft on July 21, 2026. As Wood stated in the PC statement, “The reporting party advised on 06/18/2026, Mr. Anderson went to the company’s bank, Zions Bank, and wrote a cashier check for $50,000.00 USD. According to transaction statements, I observed Mr. Anderson was the Purchaser, Remitter, and Payee, leading me to believe this was a direct withdrawal to himself from the company’s account.” Anderson was read his Miranda Rights on July 22 and consented to speaking with Officer Wood without counsel present. Officer Wood finalized the statement with “Based on the totality of the circumstances, Mr. Anderson was taken into custody, where he was searched incident to arrest.
