BP is taking steps in Trinidad to ensure long-term supply to its Atlantic LNG plant, signing two deals recently in the area. The agreement covers a stake in the Manakin part of the gas field, accounting for 66%, which lies in Trinidad waters. The company is also working on other projects in the region, such as the offshore Ginger gas field, due to come online in 2027. The deal gives BP “the potential to unlock new production and support long-term growth,” said BP’s Gordon Birrell. She said the BP deal “signals renewed international confidence” in the country’s offshore energy potential.
