Country legend Hank Williams nicknamed his son “Bocephus” after a Grand Ole Opry comedian’s ventriloquist dummy, for which Hank said the boy was a dead ringer.
With some irony, sweet-faced Hank Jr. used the name as a bad-boy alter ego while echoing his late father onstage.
Hank Jr. himself said, “Prior to that day, I was always living in Daddy’s shadow.
Hank Williams Jr. concerts might have been smoked out lately by Canadian wildfires, but if you missed one, you can still bring yourself and all your rowdy friends to hear his music at the Gulf Theater.
