As the president of the South Florida Underwater Photography Society (SFUPS), Pempek is both an award-winning underwater photographer and a champion for the growing community of photographers who share a passion for capturing underwater life. Deitsch’s passion for underwater photography has taken him to far-flung destinations including the Solomon Islands, Iceland, Tasmania, Egypt, the Philippines, and the Galapagos Islands. “A lot about underwater photography is knowing the animals and the world they are living in. Deitsch, Dabill, and Casagrande all took different pathways to pursue their love of underwater photography as have a lot of the members of the South Florida Underwater Photography Society.
