The Jamestown Shores Association, which is one year removed from its diamond anniversary, will host its annual picnic from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Head’s Beach. The Jamestown Shores Association was incorporated in 1950 with the mission to “conserve and promote the welfare” of the neighborhood. Members typically meet monthly at the library with frequent guests to “talk about things that are meaningful” to the membership, Roberts said. Roberts and his fellow members of the association’s beach committee met with state coastal regulators about what could be done about the invasive species. “Dramatic changes are taking place within the Jamestown Shores,” the group said.
