Roland Parent fondly remembers a time when the only access to Newport from Jamestown was by ferryboat. Parent, through his crafting prowess, is preserving a nod to the island’s maritime history with scale models of Jamestown’s historic ferryboats. Parent’s models have been displayed at the Jamestown Historical Society and he also has three on permanent exhibit at the Maritime Industry Museum in New York City.
