Heated Rivalry the TV series follows the book quite closely, with whole scenes pulled directly from the text. But the biggest change from the book is probably the Bear tattoo – book Ilya has a grizzly bear tattoo on the left side of his chest. Book Ilya has differences with the hook-ups and how his family is shown (or not) in the television adaptation. Book Shane is also different from series Shane in his level of sexual experience. The sequel of their story (6th book in the series overall) The Long Game is almost immediately more Queer-filled than Heated Rivalry.
