If you’re a fan of “fluke” at the sushi restaurant, that’s flounder you’re eating.
Down the Hatch, the famous waterside restaurant in Ponce Inlet, still serves their “flounder pounder” sandwich, featuring a full pound of fish stuffed in a kaiser roll.
July and August present a good chance to make contact with large flounder as they move in and out of Ponce Inlet, stopping to feed.
Some local flounder fanatics fish with plastic worms — the same you use for bass — and swear by them.
Inshore flounder can be found at a variety of depths, but you can never fish too shallow.
