Some of the country’s most famous industrialists, scientists and diplomats have lived in Valley Center and Pauma Valley. Data is from the archives at Valley Center Historical Society—which unearthed a handful of remarkable people. In 1960, a man who appeared to be in his late 30’s, rented a small cottage on a large ranch on Rincon Ranch Road. Research on local individuals and families began in 1972 by the Local History Committee of the Friends of the Valley Center Library. In 1999, the Library’s Local History Committee morphed into the present-day Valley Center Historical Society, the research arm of the History Museum.
