Aspiring barristers take noteThe Bar Council has confirmed the key dates for aspiring barristers wishing to apply for pupillage in the upcoming cycle through the Pupillage Gateway, the centralised system for applications. Advertisements through the Gateway will be viewable from Friday 20 November 2026 at midday, but applicants will be unable to submit until the New Year. All pupillage vacancies must be advertised through the Gateway, but some sets administer their recruitment separately. After the application window has closed, chambers have from 1 February 2027 to start shortlisting for interviews, which will take place over the following months.
