Beginning August 6, Humanities New York and Queens Public Library will present The Future of Democracy: Conflict, Disagreement, and Civic Life, a free three-part conversation series inviting Ridgewood residents to explore enduring questions about disagreement, free expression, responsibility, and living together. Each session begins with a short humanities text before opening into a facilitated conversation shaped by participants’ own experiences and perspectives. All conversations begin at 6:00 p.m. at Queens Public Library’s Ridgewood branch, 20-12 Madison Street, Ridgewood. The series is free and open to the public. Using dialogue, reflection, and critical thinking, Humanities New York applies the humanities to strengthen democratic society.
