Barely 10 days to the Osun State governorship election, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the state account. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in a letter dated August 5, requested First Bank Plc to place a “Post-No-Debit” on the Osun State Government Statutory Allocation account. The letter also specified the “Osun State Government Statutory Allocation Acct: 2017170947” as the account that should be frozen. In a statement on X on Wednesday, Governor Ademola Adeleke confirmed the freezing of the state’s account by the anti-graft agency. “We received a letter from our banker, forwarding a letter from the EFCC, instructing the bank to freeze the Osun State Government account.
