The Ventura Family Justice Center, which opened in 2019, was the county’s first. In 2023, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved a second center in west Ventura County, to be located in Oxnard. No one has yet been appointed to lead the Family Justice Center. This will not be the university’s first involvement with the Family Justice Center network. The university has also partnered with the Family Justice Center on research initiatives focused on improving outcomes for victims and hosted the Strategic Retreat, a two-day workshop dedicated to planning an East County center.
