For the first time since 2017, a case of measles has been confirmed in Ventura County.
The Ventura County Department of Public Health announced Aug. 5 that the case, which officials learned about on Aug. 4, is linked to international travel.
“Ventura County Public Health (VCPH) is only confirming that the case is associated with international travel,” Palomino said via email.
“Ventura County is well-positioned to respond effectively with our experienced staff and strong vaccination rates among our residents.”
Members of the public with questions about measles can call the Ventura County Measles Information Line at 805-652-7599.
