Apples Canada, an organization representing apple growers from five provinces, says the crop is expected to be 'slightly' smaller this year compared with 2025. ((Nadia Bélanger/Apples Canada))Apple growers from five provinces say they will come together under a new umbrella, with a bilingual name to match: Apples Canada / Pommes Canada. The group brings together about 900 apple growers. Apples Canada also finalized this year’s crop estimate, forecasting a “slightly” smaller harvest than 2025, sitting at 18.9 million bushels. Charles Stevens, Apples Canada chair, says a “strong” sector of the fruit will help the country during challenging times such as trade uncertainties, climate change and market upheavals.
