Paralakhumundi,(Tarini Prasad Panda): A mother and her seven-year-old son died after being bitten by venomous snakes while asleep at Kadamatal village under Rayagada block in Gajapati district on Thursday night. The deceased were identified as Lalita Badarait and her son, Amit. Hearing her cries, Ajay rushed to her and found two venomous snakes inside their house. With the help of neighbours, he immediately shifted Lalita and their unconscious son to the Rayagada Community Health Centre. The double tragedy has plunged Kadamatal village and the surrounding area into mourning.
