The Quilpituk Creek wildfire continued to display Rank 1 and 2 fire behaviour on Monday, Aug. 10. (BC Wildfire Service)The Quilpituk Creek wildfire continued to display Rank 1 and 2 fire behaviour on Monday, Aug. 10, despite “unsettled” weather conditions throughout the Bradley Creek complex. On Monday, BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) was forced to cancel a planned ignition along the west flank of the fire has been canceled due to unfavourable on-site conditions. At the Bradley Creek wildfire complex, which covers both the Quilpituk Creek and Bradley Creek wildfires, there is currently an Incident Management Team, 129 firefighters, 11 helicopters, 40 pieces of heavy equipment, and 67 structure protection members. The Quilpituk Creek wildfire is one of 101 active wildfires in B.C.
