Documents obtained by NBC 5 reveal new details about the shooting of a Dallas ISD police officer in North Dallas last week. According to an arrest affidavit from the Dallas Police Department, 27-year-old Jose Pantoja-Morales was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a public servant after taking Dallas ISD Officer Justin Jones’ gun and shooting him. The affidavit states that Pantoja-Morales later admitted taking Jones’ gun and shooting the officer so he could get away. Dallas ISD said in a statement:“We are grateful to share that Officer Jones remains in stable condition as he begins his recovery. “Officer Jones’ actions reflect the true heart of our Dallas ISD police force and security officers.
