It’s a “motion to discuss … the process necessary to bring the Broward County Department of Fire Rescue under the operational control of Broward County.” Earlier this year, Deerfield Beach voted to sever its ties with the Sheriff’s Office, returning within two years to an independent police and fire-rescue department. Pompano Beach, on the other hand, voted to stick with the Sheriff’s Office for the next two years.
