George Wood/Getty ImagesHull City boss Sergej Jakirovic has pushed the club to enter talks with Leeds United for Birmingham City and Wrexham target Joe Gelhardt, according to journalist Mike White. Gelhardt has suitors in the Championship as well, with Birmingham City manager Chris Davies being an admirer of the Leeds star’s talents. Despite Birmingham City and Wrexham’s interest, Hull being in the Premier League and Gelhardt’s relationship with Jakirovic could give them an advantage in the race. Birmingham City have recently signed Argentine forward Luis Vazquez, for whom they paid €3.5m to Belgium side Anderlecht. Davies is still pushing for attacking reinforcements and Birmingham have Bournemouth star Daniel Jebbison in their mind but the Premier League outfit are looking for a bidding war for him.
