Primark will open its first stores in Castelo Branco and Setúbal in September as the Irish fashion retailer pushes ahead with a major expansion of its Portuguese network. The first opening is scheduled for September 2 at Forum Castelo Branco, followed eight days later by the opening of a new store at Alegro Setúbal. Together, the new stores will create more than 80 jobs, with over 30 positions in Castelo Branco and more than 50 in Setúbal. The Castelo Branco store will cover more than 929 sqm, while the larger Setúbal outlet will have more than 1,626 sqm of retail space. It currently operates 13 stores in Portugal, but its expansion plans include new outlets in Castelo Branco, Setúbal, Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto, as well as an enlargement of its Forum Coimbra store.
