Motorists have been advised to take note of the Walnut Road closure near Durban’s ICC, with police maintaining a presence to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
Motorists have been advised to take note of a road closure around Durban's International Convention Centre (ICC) as the city prepares to host the 46th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit.
The summit programme began on August 3 and runs until August 18, with Heads of State and Government expected to meet in Durban on August 17.
Walnut Road, between Bram Fischer Road and Dr AB Xuma Road, was closed on July 27 and will remain closed until August 18, eThekwini Municipality said.
The municipality clarified that Walnut Road is the only road closure in place for the duration of the SADC programme, while all other intersections around the ICC precinct remain accessible.
