Early stage masterplan potential drawn up by Leslie Jones Architecture for the city councilPortsmouth City Council has picked ECF as its preferred regeneration partner for the next phase of its City Centre North redevelopment. The deal could pave the way for one of the south coast’s biggest mixed-use regeneration schemes on a large former car park site once home to the now-demolished Tricorn shopping centre in the heart of the city. ECF, the regeneration partnership between Homes England’s National Housing Bank, L&G and Muse, will now test development options, ahead of entering into a full development agreement. ECF chairman Sir Michael Lyons said: “We’re looking forward to working with Portsmouth City Council over the coming months to explore the site in detail, test what’s deliverable here, and build the case for how we might take this forward together.” ECF’s current regeneration portfolio includes schemes at Canning Town, Stockport, Bradford, Wolverhampton, Northampton and Stevenage.
