Ann Widdecombe’s cause of death has been confirmed, as a man has appeared in court charged with her murder. Just hours after Ann’s passing was announced, police confirmed on July 10 that they had opened a murder inquiry into her death. On Tuesday, 28-year-old Joshua Kerry from South Yorkshire appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, after being charged with Anne Widdecombe’s murder on Monday evening. During the hearing, prosecutors confirmed that Ann died after being hit on the head with a hammer 21 times. Ann served as an MP for Maidstone in Kent for 23 years.
