The Greek Ministry of Culture, through the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kefalonia and Ithaca, is moving ahead with a major project to protect, restore and showcase the Roman villa at Agia Efimia in Kefalonia. They will also focus on the conservation and restoration of the villa’s mosaic floors and existing stone masonry. She highlighted the Roman villa at Agia Efimia as one such monument and said the project would ensure its comprehensive protection and structural reinforcement. Its organised rooms surround a central courtyard, or atrium, while two important mosaic floors feature geometric designs.
