Police are seeking public assistance with their investigation into the cause of the deadly Bald Range Wildfire west of Summerland. The Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP are looking to speak to any witnesses who were in the Princeton-Summerland Road, Bathville Road, Crump Recreation Site and the Trout Creek Recreation Site areas in the afternoon of Aug. 7. Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar directed a question regarding the cause on Aug. 10 to the RCMP. “The public is cautioned against making false statements and to stop the continuation of misinformation on social media,” the RCMP said. Anyone with information regarding the origin of the Bald Range wildfire is asked to contact the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment at 250-492-4300.
