There were plenty of heroes when it came to putting on Ionia Fun Days in 2026. “We really couldn’t be happier with the way everything turned out, even if we had to do a lot of scrambling,” Fun Days Committee member Heather Hackman said. The “fun” started early last week when Absolute Science officials reached out to the committee and said they couldn’t bring the center’s “Foam Party” to Ionia on Saturday evening. No problem, committee members said and rescheduled the event for Sunday, meaning Fun Days would last three days instead of two. And then Mother Nature reared her proverbial ugly head on Sunday morning, bringing more rain to the “Little Town with a Big Welcome.”
