Yellowknife RCMP received word of the incident at 2:55 p.m. With help from the Tlicho Government and local community members, the Yellowknife RCMP began a search of the area. Those aboard the helicopter were taken to the local health centre to treat minor injuries. The Yellowknife RCMP have referred the investigation to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
