Grand County projects it can finish 2026 without drawing reserves to balance its main operating fund while providing the full county allocations requested by five outside entities. Grand County Clerk-Auditor Gabriel Woytek presents the proposed midyear budget amendment during the commission’s Aug. 4 meeting, before a public hearing was opened. The county now anticipates approximately $685,000 more general fund revenue than budgeted, excluding reserves. Clerk-Auditor Gabriel Woytek said the projections combine tax revenue received through July with estimates for the rest of the year. Because the state distributes tax revenue about two months after collection, the latest figures generally reflect purchases and lodging through May.
