The Keffi Local Government Council of Nasarawa State has commenced the distribution of cash palliatives to vulnerable residents as part of measures to cushion the effects of the prevailing economic hardship.
The council said the initiative was designed to complement other interventions aimed at improving the welfare of people at the grassroots.
The cash support is expected to assist beneficiaries with basic household needs amid rising living costs and the pressure on families to meet their daily financial obligations.
Keffi Local Government had earlier outlined a people-focused development agenda in its 2026 budget proposal, with significant allocations to education, health, security, social contributions and other sectors.
Residents and community stakeholders are expected to continue benefiting from the council’s welfare and development programmes as the administration seeks to strengthen its support for vulnerable groups across Keffi Local Government Area.
