Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has denied reports claiming that he urged Nigerian soldiers to reject any salary increase until after the 2027 general elections. Obi described the report as false and misleading, insisting that he has never advocated such a position. “My profound respect for our security forces, particularly the Nigerian Army personnel who diligently serve and protect our nation under challenging conditions, is unwavering,” Obi said. Our soldiers are deserving of our utmost respect, unwavering support, and a government that will unequivocally stand by them,” he said. According to him, his administration would ensure that Nigerian soldiers are adequately equipped and protected while carrying out their duties.
