– The Genesee County Election Commission has approved petition language in the recall effort targeting Gaines Township Treasurer Robert Henderson. Henderson is one of two Gaines Township officials facing recalls for not hiring former Interim Fire Chief Scott Mangrum as the new chief. The township Board of Trustees voted 3-2 earlier this year to hire former firefighter Dan Stevens to lead the fire department. Jenkins, Henderson and Trustee Danny Waid voted to hire Stevens. Waid, who was appointed following the resignation of Trustee Rocky Fowler, is not eligible for recall.
