Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of South Arlington Road and Mount Pleasant Street Northwest is set to begin in fall 2027. The intersection, which borders Jackson Township, has stop signs and flashing lights on Mount Pleasant as traffic on South Arlington Road does not stop. The city had a safety study performed in 2022, and the long-term recommendation for the intersection was to install a roundabout. The bridges on Mount Pleasant and South Arlington also will be replaced as part of the project. “This will be a huge improvement over the existing intersection,” Ciocca said.
