Barberton board OKs admin salary freeze, income tax ballot issue

The board also approved an addendum to Superintendent Jason Ondrus’ contract through July 31, 2029, with no salary increase.
Ondrus called being superintendent of the Barberton City Schools an honor, adding that he looks forward to continuing to serve the district, parents and students.
Also at the meeting, the board approved the purchase of two vans at a cost of $67,678.
At a special meeting July 15, the board approved placing a 1% earned income tax on persons residing in the district on the Nov. 3 General Election Ballot.
The Barberton City Schools Board of Education next meets Aug. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Barberton City Schools Administration Building, 633 Brady Ave.
